The 19-year-old has attracted strong attention following his impressive performances, with Liverpool reportedly viewing him as a long-term attacking option. However, Diomande insists his current focus is firmly on Leipzig, where he remains under contract until 2030.
Speaking to Kicker about his future, the Ivorian winger responded confidently when asked whether he would still be at Leipzig next season.
“Yes,” he said, before adding: “I'm not thinking about that at the moment. I'm under contract in Leipzig and I enjoy playing here. But nobody knows what will happen after that. Everyone has ambitions, including me. My dream is to play at the highest level possible.”
A major factor behind his decision is the opportunity to continue competing in the Champions League with Leipzig. The young attacker sees the club as the ideal environment for his continued development after an extraordinary breakthrough campaign.
Diomande’s remarkable debut season was recognised with the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award for the 2025/26 campaign. The winger overcame competition from Hamburg defender Luka Vuskovic and Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza to secure the honour after emerging as one of the league’s standout young performers.
His impact in Leipzig’s attack has been significant. Diomande finished the season with 12 goals and eight assists, meaning only Christoph Baumgartner recorded more combined goal contributions for the club. His ability to win 55 percent of his duels also underlined the balance between his technical quality and physical presence.
RB Leipzig manager Ole Werner has consistently praised the youngster throughout the season, highlighting both his mentality and versatility as crucial elements behind his success.
“The manner in which he keeps the opposition on their toes, tracks back and runs at players – it’s a pretty complete package,” Leipzig boss Ole Werner said earlier this season. “He’s a top character, a good lad and an extraordinary talent.”
Diomande only arrived at Leipzig last summer after signing a five-year contract running until 2030, but his development has been rapid. His rise has established him as one of the Bundesliga club’s brightest stars while also earning worldwide recognition, with no player globally experiencing a greater market value increase since last summer.
